COVID-19 Announcement

In response to COVID-19, allied health services, including podiatry, is considered an essential service. As such, we are not required to close our business, and we remain OPEN.

We have, however, been monitoring developments in accordance with the Australian Department of Health, and have made a number of adjustments in our practice to manage the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and minimise the risk of transmission.

Our podiatrists have therefore, completed COVID-19 infection control training for health care workers.

With the safety of our staff and clients as the top priority, we are also performing screening checks based on the following questions:

Have you or any person accompanying or living with you:

  1. Travelled overseas to any location, or been on a cruise ship (whether in Australian or international waters) in the last 14 days?
  2. Had contact with a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19), or a person under monitoring for coronavirus?
  3. Are experiencing flu-like symptoms, a fever, cough, sore throat or difficulty breathing?
  4. Are required to self-isolate under government regulations or a public directive?

If you answer YES to any of these questions, we ask that you contact us by telephone 9417 0411 or email – podiatrist@footcare.com.au to discuss your particular circumstance and to reschedule your appointment to a more appropriate time.

We recognise that older Australians, specifically those aged over 70 and persons with existing health conditions or co-morbidities have been “strongly advised” by the Australian Government to stay at home, this does not, however, preclude you from attending for medical – related health care, of which podiatry falls within.

We would like to reassure you that we are continuing to maintain good hygiene practices and cleanliness of the workplace. In our patient and non-patient care areas, we are carrying out additional routine environmental cleaning for both frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, table tops) and minimally touched surfaces (e.g. floors). We are implementing physical distancing, by using our additional clinical rooms to maintain appropriate separation; and as always, we are continuing to use protective personal equipment (PPE) during procedures, and as appropriate.

We encourage you to stay informed through the Governments COVID-19 Health Alert (which is updated every day), and to continue to practise good hygiene. This includes:

  • washing your hands regularly with soap and water, or using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser
  • avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or coughing into your elbow, disposing of used tissues into a bin immediately and washing your hands afterwards
